Welcome to the CET Press Room, a resource for reporters, content producers, and others. Here you will find information to help you develop stories and articles to educate the public.
Circadian rhythms and environmental therapeutics influence a vast number of number of disciplines, and social issues, so the content here ranges from how to beat jet lag to psychiatric disorders, such as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and from architecture to disability law.
Although we are a small, non-profit network composed almost entirely of volunteers scattered throughout the US and Europe, we will make every effort to assist you with your research after you have looked through our site. We can then:
- Comment on problems that are frequently sought as topics for online and print content
- Address breaking news on issues related to circadian rhythms, from legislation on shift work to the latest research on light therapy for depression
- Arrange interviews with experts, usually after you have read Reset Your Inner Clock or equivalent literature. This will enable our experts to avoid repeating the basics, and focus on the more specialized questions you may have.
A Calendar of Story Ideas
Popular story ideas that invariably frequently crop up in particular months, or particular weeks, include:
- Seasonal affective disorder, which usually occurs in the winter months, and light therapy for seasonal affective disorder
- Consequences of the beginning of Daylight Saving Time in the US (setting the clock ahead to 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March), disrupting people’s circadian rhythms, and increasing the rate of auto accidents, heart attacks, and so on
- Consequences of the return to standard time (setting the clock back to 1 a.m. on the first Sunday in November).

Our general articles touch on a wide variety of topics, and can enrich stories at any time of year. For example, a June story on honeymoon sites might explain that part of the attraction of Niagara Falls stems from the abundance of negative ions, which improve mood. Information about negative ions could also inform an article on treatment for mood disorders, or the history of placebo-controlled trials of environmental therapies, or the interface of physics and medicine.
